You can now share your favorite places in Google Maps

Google Maps is an integral part of our connected lives, whether you're on Android, iOS or your desktop browser. We use it to get around, both physically and virtually, and to meet up with people.

And now with of the latest Google Maps for iOS and Android, you can create lists of places, share them with people and follow other people's lists.

The feature is very straight-forward. You click on a place in Maps, pull up its description and hit Save to a new list and then it's just as simple as sharing the list via text, mail, social networks and popular messaging apps.

Huawei CEO confirms Watch 2 unveiling at MWC

Huawei is having a press conference at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and everyone is waiting the company to unveil long-awaited flagships Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus. Richard Yu, Huawei CEO, announced today on Weibo to expect another surprise - a new smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0.




The post itself also included an image with a male in sporting gear, looking at his smartwatch. The tag line "Made for free spirits" hints to a sporty device, though Yu didn't mention any specs of the Huawei Watch 2.

Samsung revs up Galaxy S8 production

Samsung is expecting a strong demand for its Galaxy S8 and S8+ so it has boosted its initial production by nearly 40% compared to the Galaxy S7.

The former flagship's initial batch was 12M units, but this time around Samsung is increasing that number by 40%. The total shipments are expected to reach 60 million units.

That number is noticeably higher than the 48 million sales that the Galaxy S7 achieved and the 45 million of the Galaxy S6 before that.

The latest batch of alleged Galaxy S8 photos is doing the rounds today and it suggests the phone will retain the S7 edge's design, and will feature a dual-camera setup at the back.

Our inbox got filled with tips about those, but unfortunately we'll have to disappoint as this is nothing more than a bunch of poorly photoshopped Galaxy S7 units.

Samsung Galaxy S8+ spotted on Singapore support page

The countdown timer is running down to Samsung's next flagship pair and we are now a little over a month away from the official March 29 unveiling of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Notice the "+" sign on the bigger model.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X prices revealed

Valentine's Day is knocking on the door and what better way to demonstrate your love than to gift a new phone in sweet new colors. Or at least we think that's what Xiaomi thinks when it announced the Redmi Note 4X - allegedly new phone but with the same specs as the Redmi Note 4. And after we told you about it, now we know how much it will cost.

MWC-bound Vernee Apollo 2 to be first with Helio X30, 8GB RAM

The Shenzhen-based company Vernee announced at CES last month it will launch a phone with latest Mediatek SoC Helio X30 in late February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 edge and Galaxy A3 (2016) get February security patch

Samsung has pushed out the February security patch to several of its handsets in the past few days. As it turns out, there are a few more Samsung phones that are getting the update. These include the Galaxy S6/S6 edge and the Galaxy A3 (2016).



For the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, the update is arriving as version G920FXXU5DQAJ and G925FXXU5DQAJ, respectively. Nothing else is said to be included in the update.

Samsung strikes a $4.3B supply deal with Apple for OLED panels

Samsung Display, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, finalized a deal with Apple to supply the Cupertino-based company with 60 million OLED panels for the next-generation iPhone.

This is the second deal between the sides - previously they signed an arrangement that will see Samsung Display supply 100 million OLEDpanels for the upcoming iPhone.
